Palliative Care

Pain management is an important part of pet care throughout our pets’ lives. It becomes especially important as they near the end of their time with us. A pet that is in pain cannot enjoy the time they have with their family, and may be suffering needlessly.

Your veterinarian can assess your pets’ condition and discuss options for treatment. Palliative care focuses on the comfort of your pet when age or illness has progressed to a point where treatment is no longer a reasonable option.

Our staff and veterinarians understand that you want your pet to be pain and fear free during this time. We will work with you to create a pain management plan that fits your wishes and your pets’ needs with dignity and respect.

End of Life Care

None of us want to think about losing our beloved pets but it is an unfortunate fact of life. We understand that this is a difficult and emotional time for you and your family and we are here to help.

If age, injury or illness has progressed to a point where it is time to make hard decisions about your pet’s life, our veterinarian will help guide you through the process. It is important to be aware of all of your options at this time.

The tough questions need to be asked and answered. Is euthanasia the right decision for my pet? Have we exhausted all other options? We will answer all of your questions with compassion and take as much time as you need to make this difficult decision.

If you decide it is time to say goodbye, we can offer you at home euthanasia services for your pet. This method minimizes any fear your pet may have when traveling or going to the vet. It also allows your family to say goodbye in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

When euthanasia is the kindest choice for your pet, we make sure the process is pain free by administering a sedative that will cause your pet to go into a deep, gentle sleep before the final medication is administered.

Our staff will help you with disposal of remains as well. We have several options to help you remember your pet and honor that memory.

“ Outstanding in customer service from the time you walk in the front door! ”

“ We want to thank Dr. Clark and the staff of the Simpsonville office so much. ”

“ They have been there for me and my fur babies for well over 10 years and I wouldn’t trust anybody else. I LOVE the staff and all the heartfelt love they have for the babies they treat. ”

“ I will continue to give whole-hearted recommendations for Cleveland Park to my reptile keeping friends and acquaintances, whether their animals are conventional pets, or, as in my case, not quite so conventional. ”

“ For over 20 years, Dr. Finley was my vet. I cannot begin to tell you what an amazing and caring staff they have. If there was an Animal Hospital Hall of Fame, this place would be enshrined as the top of the class. ”

“ Today, when my pediatrician’s office remained closed due to ice, Dr. Finley made a house call to help end our pet’s suffering. ”

“ They are committed to continuing education and have a well-trained, educated staff that not only knows the “hows” of veterinary medicine, but the “whys” as well. ”
